On March 23, 2022, The County of Hawai’i passed Ordinance 22-26, which appropriates seventy-five percent (75%) of tier two property tax revenues for the next five (5) fiscal years towards addressing homelessness and housing in Hawai’i County. The Homelessness and Housing Fund ensures that the awardees and their projects sucessfully incorporate the priorities of the COH Strategic Roadmap for Homelessness and Housing.
In Spring 2023 (Fiscal Year 2022-2023), the County of Hawai’i Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) awarded over $7.58 million in Homelessness and Housing Fund grants to 13 Hawai’i island non-profit organizations to carry out a total of 16 projects and programs.

- Homeless Services CM Nurse/CM Night – Hawaii Island Home for Recovery, Inc.
- Coordination Center – Neighborhood Place of Puna
- The Pathway to Excellence in Practice Program – Neighborhood Place of Puna
