Love and Family Support

Spread the love

All children need the love and support of at least a few trusted stable adults in their lives. Love and nurturing are crucial for the healthy development of children But being a parent is hard. And being a single parent is especially difficult! Not only are single parents responsible for all aspects of raising their children, they are also some of the most financially disadvantaged households in the State.

Economic Stress, Housing Instability, and Food Insecurity are additional burdens that many single parents bear. Being a single parent doesn’t mean you parent alone. Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, and friends are often essential supports for families. Even  families with two parents, or who are co-parenting, can use some extra help.. Take some time this Valentine’s weekend to remember and appreciate all your loved ones. Extended family, partners, and friends all play a role in raising healthy, safe, and supported children.

In our community, many families struggle to pay rent, put food on the table, and to purchase even basic supplies that many of us take for granted. If your family is struggling to cover the basics, or think you could just use someone to talk to, connect with our Family Resource Center today.
