Teen Pregnancy

Teen Pregnancy and Family Planning

Being a parent is one of the most difficult jobs in life.  For teen parents especially, these responsibilities can become overwhelming.  Often stigmatized, many teen parents are even turned away by their own birth families. Without appropriate support, some teen mothers can find themselves alone and feeling abandoned.

Neighborhood Place of Puna strives to help teen parents before, during, and after birth, with ongoing “in-home” support. We’ll meet with clients wherever they call home.  It may be a relative’s house, a friend’s couch, a makeshift cabin, or the park. We offer friendship, strength-based support, skills training, and advocacy. We support our clients to become successful as parents and as individuals. If you are pregnant or in need of family planning advise, please contact info@neighborhoodplace.org.
