Being a parent is one of the most difficult jobs in life. For teen mothers it can be overwhelming. Often stigmatized, some teen mothers are even turned away by their own parents. Teen mothers can find themselves alone and feeling abandoned.
Neighborhood Place of Puna strives to help teen mothers before, during, and after birth, with ongoing “in-home” support. We meet with them wherever they call home. It may be a relative’s house, a friend’s couch, a makeshift cabin, or the park. We offer friendship, strength-based support, skills training, and advocacy. We help teen moms be successful as parents and as individuals.
Please consider making a donation to our home visiting program. Your donation, large or small, will help make sure that pregnant teens can find the support they need.
