“Mary Hyslop the founding Executive Director of Neighborhood Place of Puna passed away in June of this year. Mary served as NPP’s Executive Director from 2002 through 2011. Mary was a founding member of the East Hawaii Coalition to Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect. Mary also participated in the coalition that worked on the initial stages of the Kaloko Housing Program in West Hawaii, which opened in 2011 as Na Kahua Hale O Ulu Wini.
Mary was a strong advocate for families and strived to make Puna a better place for everyone. She will be missed.”
