Why Support Neighborhood Place of Puna
These are difficult times.
Here on Hawaiʻi Island, we know that when we lift each other up, we rise together.
That’s exactly what we do at Neighborhood Place of Puna. We walk alongside families, individuals, and youth ages 14–24 enduring persistent hardship and insecurity — helping them rebuild the foundations of their lives with care, dignity, and aloha. Those foundations look different for everyone: for some, it’s securing stable housing; for others, it’s finding employment, reconnecting with family, or simply restoring hope and confidence after a difficult season. Whatever the need, we’re there helping people so they can move forward with resilience and pride.
We’re here to show everyone they are not alone and that brighter days are possible.
But we all know that the need is growing faster than ever. More local families are struggling to find affordable housing, and too many keiki and young adults are going to sleep without a stable place to call home. Others may lack the basics — food, clothing, or access to support systems that help them thrive.
Every day, we meet people doing their best to make ends meet in a system that’s simply not built for them to succeed. That’s why we’re asking for your help.
This year, we aim to raise $15,000 to help us meet the rising demand for our services, and we can’t do it without you.
Every dollar you give supports Hawaiʻi Island residents, helping families, children, and individuals in our neighborhoods meet their basic needs and find stability and hope.
